Sean was raised in a small town in California’s gold county. He attended California State University, Sacramento and worked his way through school as a laboratory technician at an environmental testing lab. Ultimately, Sean received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy. He then decided to fulfill his lifelong goal of becoming an attorney by attending the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
While in law school, Sean learned the ropes by working at California Attorney General’s Office. There he represented state agencies in employment litigation, civil rights litigation, and preventing lawsuits. Since becoming an attorney, he has practiced in a wide array of fields, including business litigation, business formation and transactions, intellectual property protection, general civil litigation, administrative law, employment law, and probate law and estate planning. He joined Smith, McDowell & Powell as an Associate Attorney in March of 2018. Sean enjoys solving legal problems by mastering the relevant law, learning all there is to know about his client’s situation and employing a blue-collar mentality.
Outside the office, Sean can’t get enough science fiction and is an avid San Francisco Giants fan. He also enjoys art, traveling the world with his wife, and going to Sacramento River Cats games to check out the Giants’ next star player. When he wants to get away for the weekend, Sean loves to go hiking around Lake Tahoe and surfing up and down California’s coastline.
