Cecilia grew up in Sacramento and moved to San Francisco to attend the University of San Francisco. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Literature. After graduation, she remained in the City and was a legal advocate for the Homeless Advocacy Project, continuing the practice of social service her mother instilled in her. She also spent time studying International Humanitarian Law and European Union Law in Budapest, Hungary. Cecilia was recruited by, and ultimately accepted a position with UBS Financial Services, Inc. where she worked as a Financial Advisor and Corporate Stock Benefit Consultant.
In 2010, Cecilia moved to Miami, Florida to attend Florida International University, College of Law. After completing her second year, Cecilia moved back to Sacramento to attend the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Her coursework focused on Business Law, Banking and Finance and Securities Regulations.
Cecilia has done extensive research and editing work for legal memoranda, articles and projects regarding corporate governance and compliance, the Dodd-Frank Act and the impact of the conflict minerals rules on the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She also assisted one of the Experts in co-authoring the Brief of Experts on the Democratic Republic of the Congo as Amici Curiae Supporting Petitioners Nat’l Assn. of Mfrs., et al., v. S.E.C., No. 13-5252 (Jan. 23, 2013). Cecilia has practiced in both federal and state court with a varied experience in civil litigation including labor and employment, securities and business litigation, real estate and professional negligence. She thoroughly enjoys the practice of law and loves advising and working with clients.
Cecilia currently holds her Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and is also a licensed life insurance producer with the State of California. She enjoys spending time with family, working out and re-learning the cello in her time away from the office.
